Finally! The month of December is here! Most of us just recently received our 13th Month Pay and I am pretty sure that you are excited about what to do with it.

You may be planning on the things that you want to buy, splurge, and be a One-Day Millionaire… It is not exactly a bad thing, after all, you deserve it to pay-off the hard work you've put up for the year.

However, there are some things that we need to prioritize to fully enjoy our long awaited 13th Month Pay. Here's a list of tips on how to make the best of it.

1. SET ASIDE FOR THE RAINY DAYS

Save for the Rainy Day

The last thing that you want to happen is to have a zero (0) balance under your name when the new year starts. Set aside at least 20% of your 13th Month pay to serve as your buffer or starter pack amount.

There are a lot of things that you can do, some of them are:

    • Is to build your Emergency Fund – The future is unpredictable, the only way to fight it head-on is to prepare for it today.
    • To materialize your Dream – Dreaming is totally free but making it come true will entail some costs. This will serve as your startup amount, it may not be enough at first but with faith, patience, and consistency, it will.
    • To Improve yourself – To earn more means to invest on the very important asset which is yourself. Learn new skills and hone your talents, attending workshops/training will definitely improve your sense of well-being, it can widen your horizons, and even open new doors of opportunity.

2. DEBT PAYMENT

Pay your Debt First

The second order of business is to eliminate loose-ends and that is to pay off your debts. You can't fully enjoy the yuletide season when there are debt collectors calling. If you can't pay the debt in full, you can just pay a part of it. The most important thing here is to at least reduce your debt amount.

3. SHARE YOUR BLESSING

Sharing is Caring Share Your Blessing

Sharing is caring, and it is Christmas after all. It is the prime-time to help your community. Find a charity and donate an amount to help their cause. Also, as a predominantly Christian country, we are taught the biblical obligation to tithe. This serves as our offering to God, who by all means is the provider of all things. Give and You Shall Receive.

4. SPLURGE (Help the Economy)

Celebrate and Enjoy The Christmas and New Year

Now that everything is set up. All you need to do is to enjoy yourself until the new year with a peace of mind. You will not feel any guilt and regret of whatever you will do your remaining 13th-month pay amount.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
