As the month of December rolls in and you are starting to draft your New Year's resolution (again), that mostly will be left unfollowed. You are also waiting for that one special thing… and that is the 13th Month Pay.



Given that this year is mired with the pandemic and many were laid off because of business closures, celebrating this festive month will be quite different compared to the previous years.

 

As you all know, the 13th month pay can be considered as a windfall money, and its primary purpose is to be splurge. This is the ideal scenario if you are prudent about your finances. If not, then you may need to cut some of that amount to pay yourself first.

 

 

What Can You Do With Your 13th Month Pay?

 

  1. The old adage is Pay Yourself first. This is for your future self. Your really don't know what is in store for you next year. You may have a job now, but who knows what will happen. So it only proper to prepare for what is to come.
  2. Pay-off your debts or at least some part of it. The main issue of having debts is that it earns interest, and if you are careless of not paying what you owe for too long, it will comeback for your paycheck bigtime.
  3. Share some of your blessings. Be thankful that you still have a job because some don't have. Be thankful that your family is well and healthy because some are don't. Be thankful that you are still here because some are not that fortunate.
  4. Paint the Town Red. Go out and enjoy oneself flamboyantly. No need for a lengthy explanation. Enjoy yourself because you Deserve this!

 

 

 

As we leave this year and all of its negative events, let us hope that next year will be our year of healing.
